Hiking – as far as your feet will carry you

The Stubai Valley is a true hiker’s paradise, offering an almost limitless hiking network. There is something for everyone regardless of ability and experience. Walk through the village of roses or hike to scenic nature sites. Route difficulties vary from medium altitudes and the themed trails of the WildeWasserWeg and the Stubaier Höhenweg to the more challenging Seven Summits routes.

Leisurely hikers often take the cable cars when ascending or descending. The cost is included in the Stubai Super Card.

In addition to quaint huts and tasty Stubai delicacies, impressive views mark the end of the hike. Panoramic views of the summits and the platforms at the Stubai Glacier, the Schlick 2000 and at the Elfer are probably the most rewarding experiences when hiking.

Rock and Ice Climbing

The Tyrol Valley offers more variety in climbing gardens and trails than any other valley. Beginners and professionals will feel the adrenalin in the secured cliffs and fascinating exposed passages of the Stubai Valley.

In the Schlick 2000 or in the area of the Franz-Senn-Hütte there are a variety of challenging alpine climbing routes and some hook-secured multi-rope routes. In winter, mountaineers particularly enjoy icefall climbing. Beginners can practise this discipline on the ice-climbing tower at the Stubai Glacier or join a course offered by mountain guides. Alternatively, you can check out the indoor climbing hall in Fulpmes in winter.

The Adventure Park in Fulpmes has the largest high wire garden in Tyrol and offers 130 exercises across 13 parcours.  Fortunate visitors may even get to meet the ski jumping stars of the Stubai Valley, Gregor Schlierenzauer or Andreas Kofler.

On your bike and up the hill!

Skiing is to winter what biking is to summer.  The biking arena is in the heart of Tyrol and there are numerous trails and routes on offer to explore the region on two wheels. All bikers, from extreme athletes to leisurely e-bikers, will be challenged according to their ability.
The 720 km network boasts a difference in altitude of approximately 13,000 m and is arranged in line with the Mountain Biking Model Tyrol. All routes are comprehensively sign-posted. Interactive maps and QR codes on the signs facilitate navigation through unknown areas.

Racing bikers can use the asphalted Stubai alpine road to ascend to the Valley Station of the Stubaier Gletscherbahn. Beginners and advanced cyclists can improve their technique in the Bike Academy in Fulpmes with the help of expert biking guides. You can ride everywhere with e-bikes, but only the eight specially designed e-bike routes feature rentals and charging stations.

Along the bike routes there are special accommodation facilities for bikers that cater specially to the needs of cyclists. In addition to savoury biker’s meals, they also provide repair services and bike wash stations.

When you are planning a biking tour through the Stubai Valley, our bike specialists in the valley are happy to be of assistance. In addition to expert advice, preparation or support services, the professionals gladly provide information on particularly beautiful tours.
The Stubai Bike Challenge is a special event held every year. The Stubai Valley can be explored in four stages. You can participate in either the individual stages or compete in the race.
